Position Summary:
The Transportation Coordinator is primarily responsible for route planning, dispatching and tracking for the Corporate Transport department shipments. This includes the company's private fleet of 45 drivers, Core Carriers and a 4PL. The Transportation Coordinator will also be responsible for the hand off of product responsibility from the deployment and purchasing team. As well as work closely with the Corporate Warehouse to assure efficient execution of processes.

This position will assist the Transport Operations Manager in executing the day to day operations of the department. In addition the Transportation Coordinator will run strategic analysis for network efficiency. This position requires travel (less than 15%) to BRC divisions and occasional travel to meetings and conferences as needed.

Job Requirements:
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education:
  • BA/BS degree from recognized school in Business, Logistics or related field


Experience:
  • Minimum three years of transportation / logistics related experience is required
  • Must have experience and/or be able to show proficiency in route planning software or related software


Skills and capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge of transportation efficiencies and process improvement
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, expertise in Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and willing to teach new concepts.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple projects and work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience implementing process methodologies (Lean, six sigma) a plus
