Company Profile: BP Express, Inc., a leading regional provider of intermodal transportation services is looking for a Terminal Manager to support the new terminal startup in Memphis, TN. The Terminal Manager will work with our VP's to recruit owner operators for lease purchase to support our current and new customer business.
Job Description: Candidates applying for this job MUST have 5-10 years of intermodal trucking experience. The Terminal Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all operations related functions and activities necessary to support, control and report on the terminal's operational performance. The selected candidate must ensure that the necessary guidance, direction and supervision is provided to all terminal employees and drivers. Specific key responsibilities include dispatch, payroll, customer service, maximizing the utilization of all drivers and fleet equipment through proper scheduling. In addition, P&L responsibility for the terminal; continuous review of the latest cost/revenue data- by customer to identify required pricing actions; maintaining strict adherence to fleet service and repair procedures, and special projects as identified by the VP of Operations.
Job Requirements: The Terminal Manager position requires hands-on participation and leadership, with daily interactions within all levels of the Company. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Directing all operational functions including Scheduling, Dispatch, Maintenance, Roadside Assistance, Customer Service, and supporting proactive sales activity in support of the terminals.
Working with the executive team to analyze the profitability and future growth of existing lanes, and other hauling opportunities, by customer, and recommending appropriate action(s) where necessary, including the acquisition of appropriate vehicle resources.
Working with Safety Department to ensure all USDOT requirements are adhered to and minimize risk exposure.
Working with the Management team and Accounting, continually striving to reduce operating expenses, including but not limited to payroll, maintenance, and associated operating expenses.
Continuously utilizes the resources at his/her disposal to seek additional revenue opportunities, wherever and whenever possible.
Based on the Vehicle Maintenance Repair Logs, works with the Maintenance Manager to review and evaluate the downtime activity. Directs the Maintenance Manager and shop personnel to ensure that all warranty claims on vehicles, parts and equipment are properly executed and filed as appropriate.
