| Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President of a leading provider of flat bed, heavy haul, wind energy transport and brokerage services with over $45 million in revenues. Subsidiary of $1.2B holding company. Responsible for the day to day operations of the Heavy Haul division, including driver and equipment productivity (miles per day, deadheading, driver time off, revenue per mile, etc.), retention, permitting, route surveying, quality, service, and cost effective management of resources. Develop processes and establish relations with outside companies such as escorting and permitting companies. Challenge is to assist management with the daily flow of freight, asset utilization, increase revenues and improve profitability. Job Requirements: Background Required: • Heavy Haul Operations Management Experience (3 + years) • Hands On Experience with Permitting • Knowledge of Per Axle Weight Distribution Requirements • Management of Driver Issues/Retention • Hours of Service Regulations Governing Heavy Haul • Computer literate - (Microsoft Word, Excel) • Industry Specific Software and GPS Systems (PeopleNet, Qualcomm) • Location: ND (relocation assistance) Background Preferred (but not required): • Process and Metrics Development • Wind Energy Transportation Operations • Heavy Haul Rate Structure Knowledge • Revenue Accountability • Education: College Graduate-BA or BS Other Essential Abilities and Skills: • Demonstrated Communication Skills (all levels of organization) • Hands-on manager- works to make it happen • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner |
