Job Summary: The Human Resource Generalist in responsible for assisting the Human Resource Manager in providing support to employees at their facility. This includes being the contact for employee benefits information, maintaining personnel files, filling open positions, scheduling interviews, scheduling drug screens and conducting background checks, maintaining schedule of performance appraisals and updating organizational chart.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains personnel files, including occasional audits of files and notifying corporate offices of any personnel changes.
  • Filling open positions through both internal and external means. Maintains file of all applications that have been submitted, schedules interviews, conducts interviews, and assists with sending out offer or decline letters to all applicants. Schedules drug screens and conducts background checks on new hires.
  • Maintains schedule of when performance appraisals are due.
  • Updates and maintains organizational chart and sends copies to supervisors and managers on a monthly basis.
  • Serves as a general source of information and answers questions from employees related to all previously mentioned topics, as well as answers a variety of questions from individuals looking for a job or verifying employment.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues
  • Work directly with managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on HR matters
  • Provide leadership and consulting support to supervisors in support of achieving operations objectives
  • Identify potential negative situations and report to HR Manager.
  • Work with managers to identify staffing needs & ensure adequate staffing to meet volume projections.
  • Serve as local contact for employee benefits information and assist new hires with enrolling in benefits. Act as liaison between employees and corporate benefits administrator.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and some Human Resources experience.


Skills and/or Experience:
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • PC literate, with ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail.
