The Allen Lund Company seeks an experienced salesperson for our logistics division in Overland Park, Kansas. We seek professionals who are independent thinkers, highly goal oriented, and self-driven in materializing their visions. National Accounts Managers are primarily outside salespeople. Primary areas of responsibility include to the following: NEW CUSTOMER ACQUISITION • Contact new customers and draw on unique competencies to demonstrate how the business (ALC) can be beneficial to the customers. • Develop systems/processes for effective prospect identification, qualification and management. • Develop a strategic plan to acquire, track and communicate effectively with new customers. • Carry out strategies through prospect contact, proposal development and presentation, effective follow-up and account management. MAXIMIZE CAPACITY OF CURRENT CUSTOMER BASE • Analyze current customer market share, trends, etc. and develop plans to address growth opportunities within the customer base. • In conjunction with transportation brokers, create customer profiles histories and analyze their needs. • Work with transportation brokers to maximize the capacity of the current base of customers through ongoing sales meetings and strategy sessions. • Assist transportation brokers in maximizing customer's capacity through customer meetings, proposals and presentations. CUSTOMER RETENTION • Develop plans (individual and global) for retaining current customer base. • Activities include monthly/quarterly/annual meetings with customers, social/relationship building activities (i.e. lunches, events, communication through emails, cards, calls). • Develop ongoing marketing efforts, coordinated with Corporate Marketing personnel, to effectively communicate with current customers. In addition to the primary responsibilities, below are other areas of responsibility that contribute to the overall success of the office: OPERATIONS • Working knowledge of daily office operations, capabilities, computer programs, loading procedures and routing, sufficient enough to assist with broker backup when needed. COLLECTIONS • Assist in the collections efforts to insure timely and complete payment of all transactions while maintaining a professional working relationship with the customer. CLAIMS MANAGEMENT • Assist in negotiations with carriers and shippers/receivers to arrive at an amicable solut Job Requirements: Success as a National Accounts Manager requires a highly self-motivated team player, with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong business development experience in transportation logisctics. The ideal candidate will possess these attributes and meet the following requirements: • 5yrs. Logistics Sales Experience; TMS, LTL, Small Package • Strong Business Development & Negotiation Skills • Excellent Business Analysis Skills • Strong Customer Service Orientation • Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills • Computer literate: Excel, Word, Outlook a must • BA/BS, in Business preferred |
