| Job Description: POSITION TITLE: DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS JOB CATEGORY: LOGISTICS / DISTRIBUTION / WAREHOUSING INDUSTRY: FREIGHT FORWARDING LOCATION: MONCTON, NB DATE: OCTOBER 7, 2009 JOB ORDER NUMBER: 195954 EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have: • 7-10 years of full supply chain experience in a Transportation/Logistics/3PL environment. • Excellent project management experience. • Operations management and account management experience within Third Party Logistics. • Experience with analyzing business and market trends to identify potential opportunities. Develop and execute appropriate strategies and plans. • Experience with P&L and Financial controls. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Our client is a dynamic, transportation provider that delivers high quality transportation and logistics solutions to clients throughout North America. They are part of a company with over a century of service in forestry, oil and gas, wholesale/retail operations, shipbuilding and transportation services. The Director of Logistics will play a pivotal role in transitioning this asset based carrier into a full-service logistics provider, offering creative end-to-end logistics solutions. The Director of Logistics will: • Be responsible for identifying, validating and executing against growth opportunities in new products, services and channels. • Assist the company with creating, designing and implementing leading edge transportation and warehousing solutions. • Establish a network of outsourced transportation partners including rates negotiations and establish service contract levels. • Establish and maintain adherence to customer and internal KPI'S. • Implement and monitor service levels to ensure maximum levels of client satisfaction. • Manage existing information and data and implement processes/systems which will improve efficiencies, identifying gaps to ensure integrity of information. • Drive change within the organization where identified efficiencies have been recognized. • Capture and record service failures and implement process improvements. • Collaborate with sales and operations to help lead the implementation of new initiatives. • Participate in proposal strategy and development plans. • Manage multiple, on-going projects from initial solution design through to implementation. • Constantly review performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement new strategies when appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: • 7 years in a Supply Chain strategic role with preference given to candidates with experience in a Transportation and/or Third Party Logistics environment. • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical and project management skills coupled with the ability to identify avenues of new opportunity for future growth and expansion of the business. • Experience developing leading edge logistics solutions and possess the knowledge of how to implement them. • Excellent people management and communication skills. • Strong financial controls and P&L experience.
