Job Description: We have an outstanding career opportunity at our newly centralized, 24/7 state-of-the-art Customs Brokerage Processing Center in Columbia, South Carolina for an Import Manager. Relocation assistance is available. Responsibilities for this role include: • Responsible and accountable for all activities performed on the assigned shift 7 days per week, including the division of work across all teams • Manages and coordinates customs clearance activities in an efficient and cost effective manner • Ensures compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products being shipped through all DGF facilities • Implements and trains on policies, procedures and service standards for customs clearance operations • Ensures all policies and procedures are consistently administered • Provides input into the development of polices based on skill set and experience Responsible for meeting key performance indicators targets • Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing staff • Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes. • Manage a large number of service, production, or support employees via supervisors or a team of exempt professional individual contributors and applicable staff in Associate roles Job Requirements: Skills & Qualifications • Must be a licensed US Customs Broker • If not licensed the individual must become licensed within 2 years of accepting the position and become CCS certified within 8 months • Considerable knowledge of all regulatory aspects related to importing • Ability to create and execute vision for the customs brokerage product • Senior analytical and problem solving skills • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications • Ability to multi-task • Demonstrated personal leadership skills, sharing the core vision and values of DGF and its strategic direction Persuasiveness and negotiation skills • Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and simple way • Team management, including Coaching/Developing people Entrepreneurial spirit / Customer orientation • Business and market know-how, Innovation & Change management. • Financial skills / budgeting • Typically requires BS/BA and 6-8 years experience in related field, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience. |
