SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Account Executive must be well-versed in the dynamics of the transportation and logistics industry. This role is primarily responsible for increasing market share and generating new revenues through business development and client relationship management. Key to the role is to build client relationships that will sustain long-term relationships that add value for both the company and the client, and provide an opportunity to grow other company services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: - Identify and manage the internal resources to support revenues consistent with the company's offerings in the assigned territory - Meet and exceed assigned revenue goals by driving new non asset based truckload and LTL revenues to the company. - Work to increase synergy and cross-selling opportunities between all lines of business. - Manage and capture all sales and contact related activity in the company's CRM database as a fundamental job requirement in this position. - Foster goodwill and maintain excellent communication with all customers, suppliers, staff and the members of the line of business and our leadership teams. - Support gathering competitor intelligence in an effort to increase awareness of market share and our profitability. Develop appropriate responses to new competitive initiatives. Job Requirements: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors degree preferred or a combination of education or equivalent experience - Minimum 3- 5 years experience in a field sales role with a leading non asset based 3PL or modal transportation provider. - Solid knowledge of Canadian and US domestic ground transportation, international and cross border NAFTA logistics - Hands-on experience and success in Business-to-Business sales of multi-modal transportation and 3PL services - Track record for achieving or exceeding targets with transportation and 3rd Party Logistics solutions, preferably in Truckload Brokerage, LTL Transportation, and Transportation Management - Demonstrated experience in developing and executing sales strategies from prospecting and identification through to closure DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS -- Outstanding interpersonal and communication and presentation skills, with ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally with all levels of management -- Ability to develop / maintain strong client service relationships within and outside the Company -- Self motivated, with superior planning/organizational skills and ability to work under pressure -- Ability to lead the response to RFPs and RFIs while engaging business partners in design solution, costing and pricing -- An independent self-starter with a passion for outside sales and a desire to be successful |
