    EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you MUST have:
    • 10 years minimum adjusting experience in casualty claims
    • Strong knowledge of Ontario Auto Insurance, CGL coverages, property liability coverages, tort law and medical terminology, WSIB, OHIP, SABS, civil rules of procedure
    • Ability to interpret contracts and lease agreements
    • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in the use of computers, especially the MS Office Suite.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    A leader in the insurance and financial protection area is looking for a Casualty Claims Specialist to join their solid international group. This company has a corporate vision focused on customer service and growth.

    This individual would be responsible for the following areas:
    • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, settle approximately 10 new complex liability claims per month; involving Bill 98 but with some files originating with Bill 59 and possibly Bill 164, and including residential and commercial liability.
    • Organize field investigations with Field Claims Representatives or Independent adjusters, in order to investigate facts of loss, damages.
    • Arranging, directing and overseeing experts, including engineers, defence counsel, private investigations, accountants, SIU, medical professionals.
    • Attendance and participation at mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials and settlement conferences.
    • Interpreting policy wordings, case law, experts' reports, civil rules of procedure, leases, and contracts.
    • Preparing reports to management/Head Office, which will include summaries, action plans, defence strategies, reserve and settlement recommendations.

    SALARY RANGE:
    • Competitive Salary Base with Annual Incentive program.
