Job Description:
Manages and directs the industrial engineering function. Counsels executive management on Industrial Engineering matters, with respect to long-range planning and major expansion projects. Analyzes operations with an eye to effective use of automation and other techniques. Works with Distribution Center management in developing projections of costs and/or cost savings.

Duties: (not inclusive)

Develop and maintain engineered labor standards for all distribution functions at all facilities. This includes warehousing and transportation.
Support growth and development of the Distribution network, including design, layout and start-up of new DC's. This includes specifying material handling and storage systems to be utilized in the DC's and product slotting.
Manages sourcing and installation of these systems into the Distribution operation.
Maintains facility layouts and develops and evaluates facility layout changes that will improve productivity and efficiency.
Provides cost savings associated with facility layout changes.
Maintain and update warehouse optimizing and slotting software.
Presents and defends standards in an understandable way to the associates, union and management.
Implements and trains Distribution Center (DC) management and supervision, as well as hourly support staff, in the proper methods and procedures to ensure that an acceptable level of productivity is sustained.
Establishes best practices across the Distribution network.
Maintains documentation of best practices and administers their execution.
Establishes and maintains engineered labor standards across the Distribution network based on best practices.
Establishes and maintains a performance incentive program based upon engineered labor standards.
Provides functional support for the Warehouse Management System suite, including Labor Management, Slotting and Reporting.
Assists DC staff in resolving related systemic and/or operational issues.
Measures, interprets and reports on the performance of DC operations.
Provides interpretation and recommendations to DC management teams.
Builds staffing planning models to aid in DC management and Distribution network planning.
Assists with determining Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics to guide Supply Chain management.
Conducts operational methods reviews, audits and develops justified alternatives. Studies and analyzes current processes, determines their effectiveness and recommends strategies for improvement.
Coordinates and integrates new operational processes. Develops, maintain and audits via work sampling, analysis, work observations performance standards for each job function.
Provide direction and guidance to engineering staff, set priorities, and define deliverables and standards for staff performance.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
8 years experience working in a warehousing and distribution environment with 2 years managerial experience.
Experience with Optricity warehouse slotting products required.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Labor Management Systems. Experience with the development of engineered labor standards and performance incentive programs preferred.
Experience designing/ building a new Greenfield DC or participating in a major DC project preferred. Ability to travel up to 50% to company locations.
