US Customs Specialist
Location: Denver, CO

Reports to: VP Supply Chain

Our Client: Leading manufacturer in the industrial industry

Responsibilities:
• Provide technical customs expertise to the USA Division pertaining to US Customs regulations and legislation.
• Act as the primary US contact on all US Customs requirements, including all interactions with the DOE, BIS, US Customs etc., as it relates to US exports/imports.
• Ensure on-time delivery of items imported into the US.
• Liaise with broker from pre to post entry compliance, determining tariff classification, duty rates, ADD/CVD rates, taxes, FTA's, export controls, licensing requirements, EPA, TSCA etc.
• Responsible for the file preparation submission to broker and tracking of applicable imports/exports with US Customs, including reconciliations, PEA's, Protests & NAFTA claims
• Responsible for the file preparation, submission, tracking and reporting of applicable imports/exports regulated by all other US government agencies.
• Obtains and maintains all supporting documents to support all import/export claims
• Responsible for NAFTA administration for all US entities
• Review contracts for applicable cross border trade issues
• Plan and implement Customs projects as assigned.
• Coordination of import/export best practices with existing Customs Dept.
• Be prepared to expand scope of goods imported/exported, as required



Job Requirements:
*Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 5 years of current customs experience required, including tariff classification, valuation, free trade agreements, export controls and other Government agency requirements.
• Demonstrated proficiency of strong PC skills, specifically related to excel, word-processing and database management
• Project management skill set
• Strong ability to research and disseminate data, report on the data, and analyze the findings.
• Independent with strong analytical skills with proven ability to break complex problems into simple components for effective communication.
• Ability to listen effectively, as well as speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles. Ability to function profitably in a multi-discipline team environment.
• Commitment to expectations and passionate desire for continuous improvement in these areas.
• Ability to satisfy US Department of Justice requirements.

Relocation assistance to Denver will be provided for those requiring it. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
