| Job Description: POSITION TITLE: SR. SALES MANAGER (GROCERY KEY ACCOUNT & ASIAN SPECIALITY FOOD/DSD) JOB CATEGORY: SALES & MARKETING INDUSTRY: CONSUMER PACKAGED GOODS LOCATION: TORONTO, ONTARIO DATE: OCTOBER 19, 2009 JOB ORDER NUMBER: 195977 POSITION DESCRIPTION: Our client, a national leader of specialty Asian food products, is seeking a career-focused Sr. Sales Manager to lead the sales team in Toronto (GTA). You will oversee many sales projects/contracts and ensure they are aligned and integrated into the GTA business strategy. This position requires a candidate who is Bilingual, Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese)/English who is currently operating at a Grocery Key Account-level and has called on the Asian Grocery/Food Service (DSD) market. As the Sr. Sales Manager your responsibilities will include the following: • Manage the Toronto strategic sales plan in conjunction with marketing • Build internal and external business relationships • Develop and direct sales strategies to meet the business structure for the GTA • Manage with the sales team trade related shows in Ontario and Quebec • Make recommendations to improve the sales function on a regular basis • Monitor effectiveness of sales and marketing programs and ensure business relationships are maintained • Take necessary action to retain key accounts and counsel others who work in the Toronto GTA as needed • Communicate Toronto's business strategy to ensure proper linkage to the rest of our client's business and co-packers • Work with the senior team in Toronto and Vancouver when needed to build strategies to increase sales, service and customer satisfaction. QUALIFICATIONS: To be successful in this role you will meet the following requirements: • 8 10 years' experience in packaged goods sales, at a key account and sales management level • Experienced with building a business through a dedicated sales force and distribution network • Experience in Asian and English culture and language mandatory • College or university education in business or marketing • Analytical skills; experience in handling people, accounts, and budgets • Proficient in Microsoft applications, Word and Excel • You should also possess a valid driver's license and passport with the ability to travel throughout Canada and the US.
