Responsibilities: • Insure that all shipping equipment is in safe condition and fully operational.Monitor usage of safety equipment, i.e. jacks.Insure that housekeeping is completed daily to provide safe work conditions. • Develop and monitor department budget. • Track fixed and variable costs. • Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner. • Research and investigate causes.Implement procedures to minimize loader error, product damage and all other complaints. • Track and monitor warehouse usage. • Work closely with Vital Supplies to effectively manage the storage of raw materials for converting. • Working closely with Tissue/Towel Logistics Planning. • Identify opportunities to increase direct shipments to customers. • Explore external warehouse storing options. • Communicate formal skills qualifications. • Continuously implement a rotation system to ensure that all employees are trained and proficient on all lines, on all jobs. • Develop and review all shipping policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistent with and support self-directed work teams. • Measure and track performance of Alveys and ancillary shipping equipment. • Track faults, investigate causes, work to resolve. • Develop and report measures to track shipping performance, and PHGP Converting Performance. • Communicate results to operators.Identify factors hampering shipping performance.Form appropriate work teams to resolve. • Effectively work with Maintenance, Tissue/Towel Logistics Planning, Vital Supplies, Quality, Traffic, Spotting and Corporate. Knowledge & Skills Requirements: • Demonstrated operational results with year-over-year improvement; must have work experience showing leadership capabilities to move the organization • Presentation and communications skills. Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach, confront; and manage people. • Excellent troubleshooting skills; proficient computer skills; and the ability to demonstrate fundamental economic skills. • Experience in union environment preferred. Education and Experience: • Technical Degree anda minimum of 2 years experience in logistics/inventory/ shippingmanagement; or 7 years work experience in logistics/inventory/ shippingrelated field. • Competencies: Accountability, Active Learning, Candor/Integrity, Communicating, Customer Service, Influencing and Building Partnerships, Innovation, Leading with Courage, and Managing Other Georgia-Pacific is an EOE.
