    EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you must have:
    • 5 years Procurement Offshore experience in Materials Management or Contracts.
    • Experience in the Automotive industry is not appropriate.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Senior Buyer is responsible to ensure material is ordered and received in support of the master production schedule. Reviews and actions changes in parts requirements generated by MRP. Assumes responsibility for buying various materials and supplies from Suppliers. Ensures quality purchases at reasonable cost with on-time delivery.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Firms and releases purchase requisitions and subsequently purchase orders in a timely manner to approved Suppliers utilizing MRP action report. Reports any irregular demands to the master scheduler for resolution. Ensures purchase order(s) reflect current document revisions. Re-schedules open orders utilizing MRP action report(s). Determines if necessary, to move out orders. Expedites all open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Establish a working relationship with vendors to ensure on time delivery. Following up on purchase orders to meet master schedule. Update database for most current commitment. Attend schedule meetings and provide delivery information as required. Ensures discrepant paperwork and parts problems are actioned and resolved, and discusses any cost and delivery impacts with the Program Manager.
    • Maintains the material master for planning data for MPR purchase parts to ensure accuracy: supplier lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, order file data MRP items, and any other items as defined in the BPP. Liaison with shop floor scheduler to recommend parts for make/buy decisions.
    • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and long term commercial agreements that optimize performance and ensure reliable sources of supply (cost & risk education, and delivery enhancements).
    • Maintains matrix supplier delivery performance. Recommends inventory levels to be managed and methodology that will be used.
    • Analyzes quotations received and negotiations purchased contracts for the lowest total' cost, consistent with quality and on-time delivery.
    • Ensures reliable sources of supply and negotiations blanket purchase orders.
    • Studies market trends and projects future costs and recommends Suppliers meet our production and marketing objectives.
    • Assures that his/her Suppliers capability to meet quality specifications and delivery performance. Reviews and provides input into the Supplier Rating process.
    • Fully understands automated purchasing system; make sound recommendations for improvement as necessary.
    • Maintaining confidentiality of information and quotes.

    SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $70,000 yearly profit sharing.

    EDUCATION: University or College CPP / PMAC Certification.
