Our client, a leading Canadian General Contractor with offices across Canada, has an immediate requirement for a Project Manager (Mechanical & Electrical) for both their Vancouver and Toronto offices. In this role your primary focus is to oversee the installation of the Mechanical & Electrical systems for a multi-million dollar Industrial/Commercial/Institutional project. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Preparing the Maintenance and Electrical (M&E) project schedule for engineering, construction and commissioning activities. • Planning and coordinating all on-site M&E activities to comply with applicable owner, our client and government specifications, requirements and codes. • Preparing progress reports and executing the change management process. • Supervising M&E coordinators. • Monitoring and controlling the project schedule, hours and cost as they relate to mechanical and electrical activities. • Ensuring the consistency and integrity of mechanical and electrical design throughout the project. • Implementing company and departmental procedures/work instructions of M&E systems where required. QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for this position, you must have: • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering coupled with a minimum of 10 years practical experience, preferably in general contracting, with 5 years as a Lead Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineer, in the specifications, engineering, design, construction and start-up for mechanical and electrical systems. • You have a demonstrated ability to interact with other disciplines and fields of work as well as proficiency in the planning and control of work. • In addition to a deep and thorough understanding of applicable M&E regulatory requirements and industry practices, you have excellent project management and communication (oral and written) skills. • Previous experience working for a subcontractor considered an asset.
