    EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you must have:
    • Second Class Stationary Engineer Certificate
    • Minimum 5 years in supervisory position in a similar environment
    • Candidate must be reliable, punctual and self motivated with ability to work with minimum supervision
    • Management experience an asset.
    • Project Management experience preferred.

    Reporting to the Plant Manager; the 2nd Class Stationary Engineer will be directly responsible for:
    • Safe efficient operation and maintenance of a 1st class high pressure steam plant, compressor systems, water treatment, air scrubbers and related equipment.
    • The candidate will assume 2nd Class Stationary Engineer responsibilities including: shift and vacation scheduling, PM program, etc.
    • The incumbent is the Company representative in ensuring compliance with the regulations and inspections required under The Power Engineers Act.
    • Ensures daily plant inspection of the boiler systems and that all systems are operating in a safe and expected manner.
    • Ensures the recording of data and all relevant information to the operation of the plant under the Chief Engineer's jurisdiction.
    • Assesses the performance of the power engineers and takes appropriate actions in line with Company policy and The Power Engineers Act.
    • Provides leadership by instilling safety, objectives, and measurements; fosters good staff relationships in order to gain commitment from all employees.
    • Remains in contact and available for calls on a 24-hour basis by pager or cell phone.
    • Assist with implementation of energy management initiatives.

    EDUCATION:
    • Professional Accreditation 2nd Class Certification a MUST.
