    EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you must have:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Plant Engineering, preferably in the Chemical Process Industry or related
    • Three years experience in Management or Supervisory role or related
    • Database control systems experience (Delta V)
    • Spray dryer knowledge an asset (drying technology)

    This position is responsible for specifications and design of plant facilities and equipment for the North Bay, Ontario Plant that will achieve the desired result in the most cost efficient manner without neglecting the environment, safety, quality, and long term profitability. In addition, this position is responsible for organizing, directing and controlling the activities of the maintenance department to ensure the resin and formaldehyde plant equipment is maintained in good working order, and for providing for the safety of all personnel operating the equipment, and minimizing equipment downtime. The Plant Engineer is also the Management Representative for the PSM (Process Safety Management) Program and is responsible for its implementation and maintenance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Aid the Plant Manager in the preparation of capital Appropriation Request by first determining the best equipment design and/or facility layout. Ensure that the project meets all environmental, safety, production and maintenance requirements. Finally, once the project is well defined, a true reflection of job costs can be obtained; typically a minimum of three bids and/or quotations are required.
    • Ensure that the project is implemented according to the specification in a safe and timely manner with a minimum disruption to plant activities and housekeeping.
    • Provide the Plant Manager with a monthly status report of all project work and actual spending on all open Appropriation Requests, status of maintenance expenses versus budget.
    • Supervise the Maintenance Department, establish daily maintenance schedule, preventative maintenance and cost control programs including recommending new equipment and providing technical expertise on equipment performance to Production Supervisors. Fully implement and use PMC2000 maintenance system.

    • Projects to complete and new projects for 2010.

    SALARY RANGE: Extremely competitive remuneration package.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree in Chemical / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
