| Job Description: This position is for local residents only. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, centralizing and administrating all warehouse activities in an assigned location. Activities may include managing orders, fulfilling sales and gross margin goals and completing all growth objectives established by the company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other job duties may be assigned) Strategic Development: - Market the company image - Develop their surrounding area - Understand geography, customers, and potential. Operational Excellence: - Oversee and maintain procedure to ensure that all warehouse associates follow and abide by proper practice and controls to ensure a safe and secure workplace - Organize and approve all time cards for assigned associates in order to process payroll - Direct, coordinate and assign work activities to all associates under direct supervision in the warehouse - Implement training plans and activities necessary for associates to ensure proper performance of all assigned responsibilities - Ensure that all government and company regulations, requirements, policies, practices and procedures relating to safety, health and environment are consistently enforced - Provide assistance to any warehouse associate in the event of labor shortage including participation in all aspects of the required job duties of the warehouse. Organizational Effectiveness: - Plan, Implement, monitor, evaluate and coordinate all activities in the assigned location in conjunction with the Regional Manager to achieve budgeted sales, pricing and gross margin objectives - Maintain contact with warehouse management staff at the assigned location, trucking and firms, and Owner/Operator trucking companies that service the assigned location to ensure retainment of company customers - Attend tradeshows and industry conferences as directed or authorized by the company - Assist in coordinating staffing and operational needs of the warehouse location in conjunction with Human Resources and the Regional Manager Customer Development: - Oversee and monitor all customer contact by assigned associates to ensure all the enployees are meeting the professional and quality standards established by the customer - Develop strong working relationship with management staff and associates of customer location. - Abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the customer REQUIREMENTS: - 3-5 years of management experience in Warehousing Industry; preferably in a large 3PL operation - Strong problem-solving and reasoning ability - Knowledge of basic computer systems (Microsoft office, Outlook, Excel etc.) - Excellent communication, both written and verbal - Ability to make quick decisions based on various factors - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time pressures - Attention to detail and accuracy |
