Job Description:
In coordination with the Director of-Safety & Risk Management this position will manage flow of branch environmental health & safety compliance, training, and audits.-Fire & Chemical Safety Coordinator will work to identify all preventable safety losses and train POOLCORP staff in methods to delineate exposures from accidents and injuries.-

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fire & Chemical Safety Coordinator
  • Fire & Chemical Safety and Prevention
    • Perform Fire/Building Code Analysis
    • Coordinate with local fire authority to facilitate fire review of property and obtain approval for relocation/new branch startup
    • Coordinate with Branch/Real Estate in creating a hazardous materials inventory Sheet (HMIS) to Determine Chemical Levels
  • Quality Control
    • Review QA/QC test data from venders
    • Review new product for exposures and compatibility
    • Packaging review
  • Manage DOT Compliance
    • Manage POOLCORP's California BIT Program
    • Manage POOLCORP's DOT Random Pull Program
    • Maintain Product Hazmat Shipping Information
    • Investigate all Shipping Description Discrepancies
  • Maintain OSHA Compliance
    • OSHA 300 Logs
    • OSHA Programs
  • Maintain 24 hour Branch Support
    • Government Inspection / Audits
    • Accident Investigation
    • Chemical Spills
  • Conduct Safety Training
    • 20 - 30 webinars
  • Conduct Branch Environmental Health & Safety Audits
    • 20 - 30 Physical Branch Audits
    • 20 - 30 Desk Audits
  • Assist in the Development of POOLCORP Safety Policies
  • Emergency Preparedness


Job Requirements:
Successful candidates must have:
  • Bachelor of Science degree; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to employees;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs;
  • Familiarity with-inventory software such as prelude;
  • Ability to solve problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations in a timely manner;
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
