Job Description:
Fulfillment Center Area Managers are responsible for an area of production on the warehouse floor and will hold responsibilities specific to that area. Overall responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and achieving performance goals and objectives in order to achieve customer promise expectations ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Lead and develop a team of 25-40 associates. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department.
  • Carry out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Amazon.com's policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities will include interviewing, training and motivating employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; resolving conflicts; labor staffing.
  • The AM must communicate policies to associates and become the primary information source for staff; following-up to ensure compliance and consistency; taking corrective action as necessary and documenting the issue and actions taken.
  • Development and execution of daily and weekly action plans in order to meet department and Fulfillment Center performance expectations. Development of SOPs and managing the productivity of the department on a day to day basis.
  • Understanding and use of Fulfillment Center and Company systems and understanding and control of department functions and procedures.
  • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates. Ensure all procedures are followed for building security and product loss prevention.
  • Analysis and improvement of department processes and procedures. The AM will work to continuously improve the functionality and level of service by exceeding departmental productivity goals.
  • Creating, managing and supporting recognition and communication programs that foster an environment of teamwork for associates and peers.
  • Conferring with management personnel to establish and maintain quality control standards. Communicating all pertinent procedures and safety regulations to shift staff. Required to report and record any production irregularities and disruption
  • Coordinating shift distribution activities to obtain optimum distribution and utilization of human resources, machines, equipment and material. Revising production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Able to motivate others to meet production goals in an extremely deadline-driven environment.
  • The AM should have an understanding of Lean and Six Sigma


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude.
  • Intermediate MS Office.
  • Previous experience managing and directing a labor force preferred.
  • Strong oral (speaking, listening, interpretation) and written communication skills desired.
