Job Description: This position is for local residents only. JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this position is responsible for exceptional customer service, development of proposals and quotations, and new and repeat sales of international freight forwarding services to existing and potential clients. The postion will entail working with air and ocean carriers, overseas agents and other regional rate analysts to maintain consistent pricing methods. RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide rate updates to clients where appropriate - Review activity reports and traffic documents to identify sales opportunities and call on clients to obtain repeat business; establish excellent relationships with co-workers and clients - Work with Operations to uncover issues and opportunities for increased sales - Organize client follow-up to ensure aggressive call schedules - Provide regular status reports on calls and results to the Director - Identify opportunities for improving services, transportation costs, internal/external practices and procedures Job Requirements: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - Post-secondary education in transportation related courses - CITT / CIFFA a definite asset - 2 year industry experience required - Strong knowledge of International transportation (ocean and air) requirements - Technically savvy - Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet, etc. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Exceptional customer service skills - Team player with strong interpersonal skills - Proven communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to resolve problems and issues effectively - Highly organized with ability to multi-task, handle large volumes of work and meet tight deadlines accurately and consistently |
