Company Profile:
Our Client is a 20yr established 3PL Domestic Transportation Provider. They offer Van, Flatbed, and Expedited service. Their expertise is primarily MW regional freight based on their great Clientele and Carrier base. Their business operating software is fully functional from order entry to general ledger, offering EDI, internet interfacing, document imaging and various email notification capabilities.

They are ready to expand their service offering and currently seeking a Logistics Sales Manager to drive growth through leading a team of Sales associates and adding to the team with talented individuals that can penetrate MW and additional markets in the U.S. This position reports directly to the President and is a new position due to growth goals.


Job Description:
Responsibilities
• Hire, train and ongoing development of Inside Sales Associates.
• P&L expertise, running branch as if it were your own business. Strong entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to handle some of President's current responsibilities.
• Customer growth *Develop branch by qualifying leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email and overall networking *Maintain high margins and spot rates in a highly volatile and face pace environment • Increase sales numbers with current customer base and increase new accounts to surpass targets and even out seasonality swings • Implement short and long term sales strategy plan for office *Ensure customers receive superior on-time service through processes put in place with team and carrier expectations.
• Collaboration with Carrier Operations group in order to allow maximal margin on freight.
• Properly manage risk and maintain sensible business integrity in all business decisions.


Job Requirements:
Qualifications
• Complete P&L expertise (Gross Revenue, margin, operating income)
• Market knowledge (Pricing, lanes)
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Expert in US Truck Load Brokerage Market's, specifically inbound/outbound Midwest and surrounding regions but willing to expand beyond the Midwest
• Must have experience leading a team of Sales in a non asset environment
• 5 years minimum experience in Transportation, 3 years min in TL Brokerage
• Computer literate
• Bachelor's degree
• Foster a positive workplace by setting expectations and motivating team to accomplish and exceed goals
• Strong verbal and written communication
