Accountable to directly identify and initiate business development efforts in an assigned geographic area focused on developing and securing incremental revenue and market share from new and existing customers to achieve profitable volume growth consistent with sales and marketing plan initiatives. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, ISO standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the business development efforts in an assigned geographic area, spearheading business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's transportation strategy.
  • Where specific ownership of key business or accounts is assigned, provide leadership, direction and management of required resources to support securing, developing and managing the business.
  • Develop and execute a business development plan that will lead to the successful signing of new business.
  • Work corroboratively with corporate and regional senior management to develop business strategies that are consistent with local needs to maximize margins and increase revenue growth.
  • Provide direction for responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP's) on assigned business and ensure the delivery of professional proposals and presentations.
  • Leverage the company's global reach to influence decisions on projects for customer deliveries in both domestic and international locations.
  • Work corroboratively with the operational staff at multiple sites and locations to ensure customers' needs and expectations are met.
  • Continually improve knowledge of the Company's products and services, and follow the changes in industry to develop new products.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field required.
  • Minimum ten years transportation industry experience required.
