Plan and execute day-to-day operations and manage warehouse budgeting, staffing, distribution operations, facility and equipment maintenance, safety, security, and housekeeping. Ensure all products are received, picked, packed and shipped accurately. Provide leadership, motivation, training and development for the team.
Core Responsibilities: (not intended to be all inclusive)
- Assist the Director in establishing warehouse strategic planning, operational performance objectives and policies and procedures
- Lead supervisors to plan and implement goals and day-to-day activities/objectives
- Measure, analyze, and optimize the operations to ensure the proper and most cost efficient movement of daily shipments and receipts
- Monitor the performance of, and develop strong business relationship with, vendors, carriers, and other outside agencies that interact with the company
- Enforce policies and procedures to ensure daily compliance with occupational and health safety standards, building codes, Health Department regulations and other regulations pertaining to facilities and related operations
- Ensure that the warehouses are maintained in a neat, clean, orderly and safe condition, which meet established standards.
- Identify, respond to, and resolve customer issues in a timely manner
- Lead cross-functional efforts to evaluate and recommend work processes and procedures designed to improve inventory accuracy, customer service levels and operational productivity
Job Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of distribution management theories, principles, methods and practices
- Strong SAP knowledge
- Strong skills in talent management and development
- Strong skills in developing and delivering effective presentations
- Advanced skills in financial and analytical management
- Ability to direct, plan, organize, assign, review and evaluate the work of subordinates
- Ability to make effective and efficient use of financial resources to achieve objectives
- Ability to persuade, influence and impact others
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including preparing and presenting information
Requirements:
- BS in Logistics, Distribution, or related degree
- MS or MBA preferred
- 3 - 5 years progressively responsible, multi-site, logistics and distribution/warehouse management experience
- Fast moving consumer goods experience preferred
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent visits to production facilities.
