Job Description: SUMMARY The Agility training and mentoring program is designed to educate and transform a new hire with no experience into an effective Business Development Manager. The process is separated into three phases, spread out over eighteen months. Upon completion of the program, employees will have an understanding of freight forwarding, logistics, and customer supply chains. Each hire will be mentored and walked through each stage of our day to day operations including: Warehousing, Air Import, Air Export, Ocean Import, Ocean Export, Customs Clearance, Carrier Selection, Product Development, Lead Generation, Customer Meetings, etc. Upon completion of the program, each trainee will graduate to a Midwest Area position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Responsible for learning the basic concepts of freight forwarding -Responsible for understanding the Agility business model -Responsible for understanding the differences between Air and Ocean Freight -Responsible for pre qualifying leads and assisting our existing sales force close new business -Responsible for booking customer orders into our freight tracking system -Responsible for assisting branch operations -Responsible for understanding Agility pricing and cost components -Performs other duties as assigned by management Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required -Legal authorization to work in the United States DESIRED ATTRIBUTES -Willingness to learn -Ability to adapt to changing environment -Ability to work under pressure -Ability to overcome rejection and quickly move on -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal -Excellent presentation skills -Excellent customer service skills -Strong relationship building and negotiation skills -Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment LANGUAGE SKILLS English is the principal language for this position. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical software is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and use hand and eye coordination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to travel over 50% of the time and drive a vehicle. WORK HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT Work hours for this position are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, however schedule changes and overtime may be necessary depending on business needs.
