SUMMARY:
The Systems Analyst's II role is to Troubleshoot, plan, design, build, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of end user communities. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of K N IT systems investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the troubleshooting, planning, development, and deployment of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
- Perform desk side support to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve end user systems issues.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
- Manage and administrate all operating systems and their corresponding or associated software (Windows, Linux, eMail)
- Manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases and reporting.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of system component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Monitor and test server performance and provide statistics and reports.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to system Architects.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
EDUCATION:
- College degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, and 5 years related work experience. Proven experience in overseeing, build and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products (Ghost imaging, VNC, Remedy, RT, McAffee, Outlook, MSOffice).
TECHNICAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Strong working knowledge of network switch gear (HP, Cisco), VLAN's RF and PC operating systems, including NT, SUN, HPUX etc.
- Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, GigE, FDDI, 100 Megabit, Fiber Channel
- Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Good written and oral communication skills.

- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
