(FDX-NYSE) is searching for a Global Business Development Manager that will report to the Director, Global Business Development in the Western Region. This position develops and maintains strategic partnerships with assigned worldwide accounts. Identifies opportunities for account growth while offering customers a full array of value added services. Monitors competitors' actions in each account to ensure that appropriate responses are formulated and communicated. Provides input into the overall account strategy in conjunction with the Director, Global Business Development and is responsible for the execution of that strategy at the local level. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing or Finance). At least five (5) years of directly related freight forwarding experience & two (2) years of consultative business development experience with emphasis on key global accounts and strategic planning. Strong understanding of the air & ocean freight forwarding import process from purchase order issuance to final delivery. Experience selling origin consolidation services, vendor compliance & purchase order management. Knowledge of FedEx products and IT systems required. Demonstrated ability to achieve key global account sales goals and the planning and execution of corresponding sales strategies. Ability to seek out available resources to create preliminary comprehensive account overviews and summaries, basic financial competitive analyses by industry vertical, and quantitative benchmarking. Prefer understanding of quantitative value-added selling attributes such as proper container utilization, cube optimizing for ocean & air freight movement, impact of inventory turnover improvement on net profit margin, etc. Strong human relations, communication, and negotiation skills.
