| Job Description: Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager for one of the largest non-asset based global logistics providers with revenues in excess of $15 billion dollars. The company is a global third party logistics provider delivering end-to-end supply chain management, including air and ocean freight forwarding, warehousing & distribution and arranges the transportation of goods by road and rail, and offers customs brokerage services. The company's contract logistics unit offers warehousing and distribution services. Primary responsibility is to grow the Air Freight product in the region by working with the existing sales force to target the current customer base and help identify new customers to grow the International Air Freight product with a focus on the Asia-Pacific and European Trade lanes. Responsible to be the subject matter expert for Air Freight in the region. Challenge is to increase growth & volume of the International Air Freight Trans-Pacific product. Job Requirements: Background Required: • Worked for an International Freight Forwarder (5 years) • International Air Freight sales • Knowledge of the regional markets (NE & Mid Atlantic) • Knowledge of Asia-Pacific trade lane • Have traveled internationally in support of business development • Developed strategies and executed business plan • Carrier relationships, pricing & routing • Demonstrated track record of success • Travel up to 50% • Computer literate (Office 2000 Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) • Residence: NY/New Jersey Background Preferred (but not required): • Air Freight operations • Warehousing & Distribution • Knowledge of Contact Management Program (i.e. ACT, Goldmine) • Education: 4 year Bachelors degree Other essential abilities and skills: • Executive level presentation skills - Selling to C level, Vice Presidents and Directors • Ability to work within a matrix organization • Ability to motivate sales team in a collaborative style • Proven tenacity to close |
