Job Description: We are searching for an experienced Safety Director who will have both local and regional direct reports. The incumbent will focus on overall review of current operations and maximize on the current processes as well as implement additional safety Vision for the Company. This is an opportunity for a strong leader who has a proven track record of leading and developing teams. *Strong analytical skills for determining root cause and solutions* Development of people and teams, leading groups *Compliance with government regulations *Effective communication to all levels in the organization, especially with Drivers. It is especially important that this person have both Safety/Compliance background as well as a strong leadership/human capital background. Job Requirements: • College degree in Transportation or safety preferred. • 5-8 years successfully managing Safety and leading people. • Computer skills, power point, spreadsheet, word, company software. • Extensive knowledge of government/DOT safety rules and regulations specific to TL Industry. • Industry knowledge related to current practices of safety in the Industry o Current or Past Participation on State Motor Transportation Associations or Truck Driving Championships • Certification in NAMTI. • Proven regional leadership o Coaching and development at all levels • Excellent Communication, both verbal and nonverbal • Management of financial resources, risk management, analysis and identification of risk trends, problems and solutions. • Group presentation. • Perform road tests, show others how to safely operation all equipment as required by drivers. |
