Job Description:
Manage global customs compliance program and maintain internal controls necessary to ensure full compliance with global customs while optimizing clearance times in the movement of goods and services worldwide. Drive and execute classification and duty minimization strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive policies and initiatives to ensure customs compliance while optimizing clearance times in the movement of goods and services worldwide.
  • Manage US/Canadian import/export operations, drive Customs broker metrics and performance.
  • Oversee on-going requirements of the C-TPAT programs and compliance programs
  • Develop methodologies for tariff classification and database management, country of origin determination, commercial documentation creation, recordkeeping and other key assessment areas to ensure full adherence to global trade and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and execute duty minimization strategies including first sale, tariff engineering, duty drawback and participation in eligible duty preferential trade programs.
  • Motivate team for optimum performance through goal setting, coaching, communicating performance expectations, offering recognition and holding people accountable for results.
  • Project development and implementation of best practices.


Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years experience in Customs and international trade is required
  • Bachelors degree required
  • US Customs Brokers License required
  • Strong knowledge of both import and export global trade regulations, import and export classifications, valuation, country of origin, duty preference programs, licensing requirements, denied party screening and boycott/sanctioned country restrictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments regarding the interpretation and application of US Import and Export Regulations.
  • Strong desire to manage and strategically integrate regulatory requirements into business processes to maximize outcomes. Able to proactively teach the law, not merely impose it.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, & Access
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills with strong ability to successfully multitask in a time pressured environment.
  • Ability to diplomatically manage diverse, divergent needs of various disciplines with competing priorities and limited capacity.
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Project management experience is a plus
