    Due to the upcoming retirement of the current GM, a leading 3PL has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager for the Montreal region. As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the region, including warehouse operations, customer service, office operations, and Finance. The selection, professional development, and motivation of management staff are key responsibilities of the role. The GM will be responsible for the establishing budgets and strategic business plans and is accountable for achieving company objectives.

    This is a great opportunity for you to build a strong team focused on process improvements to optimize customer service in a non-union environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Ensure the development of processes and procedures for operating and managing warehouse operations, equipment utilization, labour management and customer service
    • Formulate and recommend strategies to improve the competitive position and profitability of the region
    • Participate in the Business Development process: responding to client requests for proposals, preparing customized supply chain solutions and presenting solutions to potential clients.
    • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques to mentor, counsel, and lead subordinates.
    • Directs programs and activities to promote employee job satisfaction, personal growth, and people development.
    • Involvement in recommending necessary computer software and hardware upgrades for the region.
    • Ensures key customer accounts receive the required level of operational and administrative support required to exceed customer satisfaction.
    • Ensures exceptional customer service and solid client relationship by implementing processes to deliver quality, time sensitive - cost effective supply chain solutions
    • Ensures all accounts achieve predetermined profit margins

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    The incumbent in this position should be a seasoned professional with a Degree in Business or a related field with minimum 10 years of experience in a Supply Chain Leadership role. Must have experience in 3PL, preferably in multiple industries. Must have strong background in warehouse / distribution management.

    • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of management
    • Excellent problem solving skills
    • Ability to understand budgeting process, financial statements and related issues are a must.
    • Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to travel as needed.
    • Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership and integrate diverse individuals toward profitability objectives is critical.
    • Fluently bilingual in French and English. Ability to effectively present in English and/or French
