Job Description:
This position is for local residents only.
This position will be located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for making modal and carrier selections for all customer orders. Plans freight loads, accepts loads and coordinates drivers with loads. This position is responsible for ensuring that all customer service and traffic issues and requests are resolved in manner that meets or exceed the customer's expectations.

Essential Functions:
- Answering inquiries from customers
- Entering, updating and/or tracking of orders and shipments
- Investigation and resolution of issues
- Coordination of pickups/deliveries
- Choose low-cost mode and carrier following customer-specific routing instructions and/or routing guides.
- Identify complex move opportunities such as truckload multi-stops and pooling moves.
- Acting as a liaison between Transportation Operations, carriers and customers
- Daily interaction with internal, carrier and customer personnel is required
- Candidate needs to be able to be dependable, be to work on-time and be able to handle themselves professionally in a customer environment.
Scope and Accountability:
Applies principals, concepts, practices and standards of a professional field to complete a variety of on-going assignments an projects. Analyzes quantitative information and applies professional judgment to resolve a variety of issues. Impacts team effectiveness through responsibility for the quality of own work and potentially the work of others.


Job Requirements:
Qualification Requirements:
Knowledge: Degree in Logistics or related field preferred, experience may substitute for education. .

Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management

Experience: This position requires 2-4 years experience in customer service, preferably in transportation industry. (Education may substitute for years of experience)
