Our client, a leading large-scale general contractor with offices throughout Western Canada, has expanded their operations and requires a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager for their latest project. Reporting to the District Manager (Saskatchewan) you will see assume responsibility for all aspects of project execution including the development of the project plan with the client, preparation of the budget, cost plan and schedule, award sub-trade tenders, site team organization, and project administration. The following are key responsibilities as they pertain to this position: • Selection of sub-trades to ensure optimum project success • Plan, organize and direct the preconstruction activities • Develop a detailed cost plan, schedule and budget, and track each component during the project • Assist the estimating team in the preparation of cost estimates • Participate in the negotiation, preparation and execution of the prime contract • Oversee the tendering and awarding of sub-trade contracts • Prepare and manage project budgets • Proactively, identify, address, and resolve issues/problems as or before they occur • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with client members, consultants and sub-trades • Ensure project health, safety and environmental standards meet or exceed legislated requirements and company policy • Project administration including pricing change orders, tracking requests for information and review of shop drawings. QUALIFICATIONS: As a successful Project Manager you will possess the following skills, education/certification, experience and personal attributes: • 12-15 years demonstrated experience on large-scale projects such as high-rise, large commercial, and/or institutional ($40million-$100million) • LEED experience (accreditation an asset) • Gold Seal Certification an asset • Experience in cost estimating, budgeting, contract management, project administration • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities • Well developed people and project management skills.
