Job Scope


In Mondel z International we work together to create delicious moments of joy. You will contribute to this by:
  • Creating and Developing a robust Global Grains sourcing strategy, inclusive of development of BCP and management of supply risk, socializing and ensuring support across the business, Leading the global team of Grains sourcing specialists to ensure leverage of global scale and sourcing strategy for the future. Accountability to and embedded within global category teams with this strategy
  • Driving the implementation of this strategy in conjunction with the Global Categories, Regional Procurement and Energy, Grains, Oils and Sugar Commodity tower.
  • The position influences a spend pool of approximately $ 0.5bn annually across four regions including the category teams. 
  • Managing key Product supplier relationships within the grains sourcing group
  • In conjunction with PIM, identifying and recommending sources of supply for new innovations 
  • Globally manage the implementation of productivity programs in Grains sourcing
  • Working with the global category leads to fundamentally change the business and ensure long term business plans met
  • Manage Global Key Grains Suppliers Relationship Management (SRM) and drive competitive Advantage with internal and external benchmarking
  • Support & lead the Americas Grains & Oils team in partnership with the Global Oils lead as well as the Global Grains & Oils lead.

Key Responsibilities

The Global Strategic Sourcing role must be capable of working collaboratively to fulfil the following Key responsibilities:
 
Sourcing Strategy

o Lead the development of the global grains sourcing strategy over medium-long term. Ensure that all business needs are taken into account during the development of the strategy and in alignment with the Global categories, regional categories and functional agendas, continue to monitor the business environment and adjust the strategy accordingly.
o Dialogue and agree strategies at a senior level within the MDLZ organization, present internally and to senior management level, influence at all levels, will operate across the grains sourcing supply base.
o Implement and deliver the grains sourcing strategies through collaboration with Global categories and Regional procurement leads
o As a result of the strategy establish annual contract parameters and partners with Grains & Oils Commodity Risk Management/Buying tower to establish and execute the annual contract.
o Negotiate high value and critical contracts effectively at senior management level with all globally managed suppliers within grains sourcing matrix and ensure visibility to regional sourcing activity within grains buy*.
o Deliver any relevant sustainable agricultural programs of a transparent and sustainable raw material and/or Edible Oils supply chain with accountability to the appropriate business team. 
o Apply legal and ethical considerations to negotiations.

Supplier Relationship Management

o Own and manage the commercial relationship with the Oils & Fats Processing supply base to establish which should be managed globally and which regionally, implement a standard way of working with the team
o Drive the SRM program with strategic and key suppliers
o Drive measureable continuous improvement/productivity of product and process with strategic and key suppliers-working with stakeholders to ensure 3 year savings plans are in place, as per guidelines.
o Follow existing strategic sourcing processes to manage supplier, industry and environmental risks which lead to actionable strategies.
o Negotiate Supplier Service Level Agreements working closely with regional and country leads to achieve this.
o With the PIM organization, drive an innovation agenda with strategic suppliers in conjunction with R D & Q and ISC stakeholders to deliver new innovations that will drive our global brands.
o Lead & support the Wheat Breeding Agenda working closely with Key Suppliers & MDLZ breeding & RDQ teams

Internal Stakeholder Management 

o Work with LA & NA G&O leads to help support communication to key senior level stakeholders within their region. 

People Responsibilities

o Coach and manage the America's Grains & Oils leads.
o Provide clear direction for global grains teams. 

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Skills:

With operational experience and a minimum of 10 years of strategic sourcing, gained in working within ingredients at a Food CPG. The candidate is already an expert in commodities or procurement or is capable of quickly establishing themselves as one.
Comfortable with a high frequency of global travel and working across various cultures.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Additional qualification such as Chartered Institute of Procurement & supply or national equivalent or MBA preferred.
Strong strategic sourcing sourcing & contract management skills at pan global level

Ability to apply procurement methodologies and technical solutions
Strong influencer at all levels
Fluent in English. Able to work in other relevant languages would be desirable. 

Must be willing to travel domestic and international as well as complete international conference calls.

Success in this role will be measured through a balance of qualitative and quantitative performance measures that are aligned to the appropriate balanced scorecard. These will form part of your annual objectives.
Achieve annual productivity targets and three year pipeline requirements
Global Grains sourcing strategies defined and cost models (as appropriate) in place
SRM program implemented with selected suppliers within related the supply base.
SCF/DPO rolled out as appropriate with suppliers
Growth & Innovation support for the MDLZ business in the areas of alternate grains & non-GMO
People Development
