What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Achieve District P&L goals, and drive ownership of District P&L through span of control; developing talent and coaching to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), engaging employees, leading situational and competency awareness, hiring, terminating, and driving performance improvement
  • Search for opportunities to continuously improve operational execution and profitability; directing, leading, and managing a team focusing on specific geographical area accountabilities, growth opportunities, and trends to leverage industry benchmarks to provide year-over-year improvement of KPI measurements
  • Proactively address and direct solutions, if necessary, associated with all service exceptions
  • Align pricing strategy in the area through collaboration with sales and the pricing department
  • Minimize labor activity by ensuring employee engagement activities, work environment, employee relations, and HR policies are applied consistently across the workforce
  • Execute fleet strategy and tactics to increase profitability and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with multiple functional areas such as Business Intelligence, Finance, Safety, Procurement, and Information Technology to develop data paths to identify efficiencies

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 8 years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, maintenance, or transportation service company
  • Previous supervisory experience in a team-focused environment
  • Proven ability to read and manage a P&L
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT Maintenance regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales, supply chain management techniques and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage vendor and customer relationships at all levels
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform and direct moderately complex analysis in spreadsheet and database programs, such as MS Excel and MS Access, and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information
  • Availability to travel up to 75%

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Master's degree in Business or related field
  • LTL experience
