What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Develop and maintain FTL (Full Truckload) business throughout North America
  • Prospect for leads to build a pipeline, including heavy cold-calling
  • Manage accounts to retain existing relationships and grow share of business
  • Succeed at heavy price and service negotiation with customers and carriers
  • Develop and maintain a strong carrier portfolio according to the carrier selection criteria
  • Identify business opportunities for company services
  • Translate business opportunities into incremental revenues through strong selling
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 1 year of experience with freight solution sales, marketing or customer service
  • The drive to make money and enjoy the thrill of winning
  • Ability to build client relationships quickly, to establish and maintain a profitable book of business
  • Be a team player with the desire to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Business-minded, with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or a transportation-related field
  • 1 or more years of experience with 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) transportation or inside brokerage sales
  • Experience with direct sales in a deadline-driven environment
