The Key Account Manager is responsible for assigned Tier 2 key accounts to include: customer retention, relationship management, and growth.

Primary Duties:
  • Develops and exectues the vertical business plan
  • Promotes GEODIS value proposition within the assigned cutomer organization
  • Analyse the global needs of assigned accounts including pricing studies, RFPs, and strategic development
  • Coordinates with GEODIS Business Development managers to develop and implement costing and analysis solutions
  • Maintains strong relationships with key account senior management through frequent messaging via e mail, face to face meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, and customer hosted meetings
  • Develops customer presentation material for key executive management
  • Attends industry seminars and conferences in order to build a new client base, support sales, and enhance self learning opportunities
  • Provides direction and guidance to external and internal partners
  • Ensures internal and external adherence to contract terms
  • Collaborates with GEODIS Legal to create contract addendum language
  • Resolves conflict and service challenges between customer and GEODIS
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Requirements: Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Logistics or related area of study from a 4 year college or university
  • Master's degree in Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in warehouse operations, transportation management, and/or international business preferred
  • PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to negotiate profitable partner relationships with regional and National logistics clients
  • Dynamic leadership skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
