Manager Materials and Logistics

This position is responsible for overall management of the purchasing, materials, production control, supply

chain organization, and distribution departments. Interface and coordinate with Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and others to balance customer service requirements with materials requirements. Meet or exceed on-time delivery performance and inventory level. Designs and executes strategies and plans to meet company's short-term and long-term supply chain

management/production control and distribution requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages and oversees overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, demand planning and inventory of materials as well as selection of vendors and distribution of finished goods.
  • Plans and directs all aspects of an organization's materials management policies, objectives, and initiatives. As a critical capability must be looking for opportunities to improve our processes, procedures, skills, and capabilities to grow the business more effectively and efficiently.
  • Purchasing: Responsible for purchase of raw materials, supplies, and equipment. Including negotiating favorable pricing & terms from our supply base, looking for new sources that support business needs, and ensuring our supply base achieves the business expectations in terms of on time delivery, quality, and cost.

  • Distribution/Logistics: Directs warehousing and distribution activities that ensures material needs are met throughout the manufacturing and distribution process. These activities are measured by our performance of on time delivery, safety stock attainment, inventory control and distribution cost among other measures.

  • Talent Management: Ensures a high performing sales team by developing, coaching, setting SMART goals, and appropriately managing less than expected performance. Ensures sales team is developing call plans, creating call report as required, and informing the business of critical customer or market developments. Applies skills in coaching, training and TMP administration systems to develop talent and drive performance across the team.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors in Business, Finance or Supply Chain required; Masters preferred.
