Job Description:

MUST BE ABLE TO LEARN HOW TO OPERATE A LIFT TRUCK/FORKLIFT AND BECOME SCHENKER CERTIFIED.

Principal Accountabilities:

Responsible for the movement of product accurately, inventory control, rotation and inspection and other warehouse related duties.

Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Load inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers
  • Utilize powered material handling equipment, MATRICS, and radio frequency equipment to load, unload, store, and retrieve food products
  • Unload inbound and outbound containers and sort according to size of freight and destination
  • Ability to properly used battery changer, stretch wrapper, trash compactor, dock plates, truck locking device, and other equipment as designated
  • Read, decode, and decipher freight coding in order to expedite freight movement and tracing process
  • Reconcile driver pick up and delivery manifests
  • Pick and prepare customer orders for accuracy
  • Repack orders as required
  • Label, weigh, and dimensionalize freight
  • Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock
  • Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports

Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for Position:

This is an intermediate level position. Good interpersonal skills required. High school diploma, or equivalent required. Generally prefer 1 year of experience. Familiar with OSHA regulations, able to operate a variety of equipment such as a forklift and a computer, and have strong organizational, inventory and accounting skills.

Essential Functions:

Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and drug and alcohol tests
