What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Ensure that financial statements, required filings, and other related financial reports and disclosures are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Assist in the development and drafting of all components of 10-k and 10-Q filings, including the consolidated financial statements, the notes to the financial statements and management discussion and analysis
  • Ensure that a formal support binder is maintained with substantive documentation of all disclosures (financial and non-financial) for all SEC filings
  • Assist in the preparation of the statement of cash flows and the EPS calculation
  • Assist the Director of Technical Accounting with goodwill and long-lived assets impairment tests, segment reporting and purchase accounting upon completion of an acquisition

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 or more years of combined experience in Big 4 and/or financial reporting for a global, public company
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Proficient in Windows applications and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Able to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications
  • Thorough knowledge of internal company software applications applicable to position/business unit

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management system (HFM) and Active Disclosure or W-Desk
  • Advanced Finance/Accounting degree or MBA
  • Knowledge of IFRS
