The Geodis Operations Manager - Air Export is responsible for directing the export operations of the warehouse and all air export functions of the station while maintaining a safe, profitable operation.

Primary Duties
  • Oversees workflow management and monitors team productivity
  • Initiates and handles new client start up processes
  • Ensures application of SOP through training individuals within teams to take responsibility of new client accounts
  • Audits documents for export compliance information and obtain missing information
  • Maintains customer relationships and overseas contact with agents
  • Coordinates activities with warehouse operations to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Reviews daily reports to eliminate potential errors
  • Assists in the enforcement of Geodis export policies and procedures
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with the TSA Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program (IACSSP) for the station
  • Resolves problems, troubleshoots
  • Reviews and addresses accounting discrepancies and assists in managing department finances
  • Manages employees including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluation, coaching and ensuring job performance and personnel standards are met
  • Ensures assigned work group members have recorded time and attendance
  • Oversees on-site technologies
  • Offers support to other stations as needed

Requirements: Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university preferred
  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience with export compliance and a thorough understanding of TSA requirements and regulations
  • DG Certification required
  • Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Essential Skills
  • Ability to successfully pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) background check
  • Ability to successfully pass the TSA Indirect Air Carrier Training Program
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
