Timken Gears and Services' Philadelphia Gear brand has a current opening for an Accounting Analyst to support finance leadership with various accounting and financial reporting needs.
Assist month end closing process for Timken Power Systems (including Timken Gears & Services, Timken Industrial Bearing Services and Timken Colombia reporting entities): prepare and process Journal Entries, load and validate general ledger data to local and Corporate financial reporting systems, analyze and prepare various monthly General Ledger account reconciliations, reconciliations with intercompany trading partners, close month-end/year-end fiscal periods, various account analysis.
Capital budgeting and working with PPE reporting system
Process electronic banking transactions
Assist TPS efforts for SOX compliance, external and internal auditing, drive process improvement changes across TPS team as deemed necessary.
Assist special projects as deemed necessary.
Support request for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information as needed for TPS and Timken Corp leadership.
Technical functions/skills include:
Accounting (general understanding of GAAP and Cost Accounting)
Ability to analyze / resolve day to day accounting issues.
Strong customer service skills
Strong analytical skills.
Understanding of EPICOR ERP system preferred.
Strong skills with Microsoft applications (especially Excel and Power Point), Hyperion Financial Mgmt, Smart View preferred.
