Your focus will be gathering requirements, analyzing data, and recommending and developing transportation-oriented process improvements, solution design, and cost-saving opportunities. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Identify, analyze, and deliver project-based results to support new initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities in transportation operations
  • Prepare documentation pertaining to account requirements and update as needed to meet changes in customer requirements and processes
  • Interact daily with internal and external customers to ensure expectations are being met, collect customer requirements, and to review progress
  • Explain/train/educate others on transportation moves and costs for projects under management and attend weekly meetings to keep functional leads, management, and stakeholders updated on current projects and timelines
  • Perform both written and verbal logistics and transportation reporting for various projects and initiatives
  • Learn and apply lean concepts such as A3s, value stream maps, kaizen events, and 5S

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Logistics Management, or related field
  • 1 year of experience in direct operations, logistics engineering, consulting, or supply chain startup, or equivalent education
  • Ability to solve complex problems while clearly documenting the assumptions, logic, work steps, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications; ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel, and quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including occasional travel

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Industrial Management
  • Experience with ILOG, Supply Chain Guru, CAPS, or data modeling
  • Solid aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and get along with diverse personalities
  • Ability to develop insightful, value-added, and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results; produce unambiguous, comprehensive, and accurate interpretations
  • Strong project and time management skills with ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
