What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Collaborate with the district general managers and district human resources team to identify and implement HR interventions that have a direct impact on the profitability of the district
  • Act as a liaison between hourly employees and management, representing both fairly and professionally; investigate and resolve employee relations issues
  • Ensure compliance with all company, government, labor, and transportation industry regulations; deliver training and interventions as needed to maintain compliance
  • Coach and counsel management and hourly employees regarding policies and procedures, discipline, interpersonal and teamwork opportunities
  • Drive communication activities, forums, and cadences that connect employees' work to the broader business strategy; deliver XPO HR initiatives in the district
  • Assist in screening, hiring, onboarding, and developing new employees to enable them to add value quickly
  • Evaluate effectiveness of service center management teams; recommend and deliver interventions with support of HR subject matter experts

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources as a generalist or employee relations specialist, preferably in logistics or manufacturing
  • Experience with enterprise HRIS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Availability to travel 50-75% of the time

It'd be great if you also have:

  • HR certification
  • Self-starting and disciplined in managing work
  • Ability to identify areas of key business need and deliver bottom-line impact
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information
  • Strong overall business and financial acumen
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and listening skills
