What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Direct on-site face-to-face interactions with the customer
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with customers engaged in issue resolution and daily operational tasks
  • Communicate with IT, engineering and operations to design and develop logistics plans and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as main point of contact for documenting, communicating, investigating and ultimately resolving freight claims
  • Support the daily operational management of the account with a focus on exception management
  • Manage KPIs and adherence to established metrics, as well as implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Create, implement and enforce transportation and logistics policies, including project management of special projects

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics management
  • Knowledge of all modes of domestic transportation, including comparative differences between various modes and the effects of those differences
  • Knowledge of TMS software as it relates to logistics applications
  • Thorough knowledge of logistics-related documentation, including bill of lading, standard claims forms, MSDS, commercial invoice, Shipper's Letter of Instruction, etc.
  • Understanding of concepts that affect transportation costs and transit times, such as seasonal capacity, transit time requirements, freight handling characteristics, priority/expedited, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
