As the Carrier Procurement Operations Manager, you will oversee a team of representatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be the primary liaison between customers and operations. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Mentor and lead a team of Carrier Procurement Representatives; interview and train new employees, conduct employee reviews, and set SMART goals
  • Manage day-to-day operations with KPI metrics
  • Act as a liaison between customers, branch Presidents, and operations
  • Provide industry expertise, guidance, and support on pricing (assist in generating and reviewing bids), freight claims, issue and conflict resolution, and safety and compliance
  • Review Carrier Procurement KPIs including revenue, margin, load count, call logs and carrier management
  • Review shipment reports by lane, customer, carrier, equipment type and regions focusing on pricing, costs and service
  • Work cross-functionally to review pricing, capacity, service KPIs; assist in developing quarterly/annual budgets and operating plans

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of transportation-related experience

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 or more years of non-asset-based brokerage experience
  • Experience in management and conflict resolution
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach, and influence employees
  • Ability to prioritize work and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think analytically, interpret data to drive decisions
