What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Lead Lean activities including Kaizen events, Lean training events, standardization implementation, value stream mapping, and CIR development sessions; facilitate Kaizen event meetings and ensure disciplined adherence to 7-Step Process
  • Advance level of Lean understanding and applications of principles throughout facility operation; help develop, teach, coach, and mentor area management, supervisors, and associates
  • Deliver practical, hands-on training to associates, supervisors, and site management in Lean principles, tools, and techniques to eliminate waste and improve flow in all administrative, manufacturing, warehousing, and support functions
  • Lead site managers and leadership teams in the development of Lean leaders
  • Ensure ongoing education of all associates with continued improvement of Lean coordinators at the sites that receiving support; promote a continuous learning environment
  • Communicate the status of all Lean efforts to the senior leadership and operations teams (30/30, 6-month progress report, Kaizen activities); administer and facilitate Continuous Improvement Roadmap Monthly Report Outs
  • Design and maintain visual controls throughout warehouse facility

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Extensive project management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point).
  • Willing to travel up 25%

It'd be great if you also have:

Master's degree in Logistics or related field

  • Excellent understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and get along with diverse personalities
  • Experience in providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics solutions in all phases of warehousing and distribution
  • Ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures, and/or systems; produce unambiguous, comprehensive, and accurate interpretations
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
  • Ability to find opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources, and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
