Pilot Freight Services is searching for an energetic and highly motivated Distribution Center Floor Supervisor in the Minneapolis, MN area. Our distribution center (DC) is bursting with activity and you can step into a Supervisor role there immediately. You'll be hands-on managing to ensure the careful inbound and outbound handling of our customer's products. Lead a tight-knit team to receive, inventory, and place freight as directed. Then our trusted driver teams take over and deliver these products to homes throughout the region. The hours of this position are Tuesday Saturday, 6:00a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Schedules may vary due to business demands.

Own-the-Results Job Description:

The DC Floor Supervisor will report directly to the DC Manager and lead the members of the DC associate team throughout all stages of the delivery service in developing relationships with vendors, shippers and customers while attaining profitability in all areas of transit of our Home Delivery Brands freight. He/she will be responsible for but not limited to: shipping, receiving; staging, inspecting, processing and managing of delivery suppliers including but not limited to; order routing, contractor management, and customer service.

The DC Supervisor must excel in a HIGH VOLUME Distribution OPERATION. This person must be one who can execute to a prescribed process in the most efficient manner. They must be able to handle a very fast paced, highly dynamic, and dead-line driven work place environment.

This is what you would have done had you been with us last month:
  • Recognized the advance notification of inbound inventory replenishment trucks in the operating system and planned work accordingly.
  • Coordinated the receiving in of rucks with replenishment of inventory providing supervision to the DC associate(s). Inspected and counted as offloaded. Placed inventory into proper location in the warehouse.
  • Logged receiving into the operating system and sent notification of any O, S & D to customer team.
  • During the course of the day, pulled customer orders from the operating system, printed and applied shipping labels and coordinated with warehouse associate(s). Staged inventory for drops at carriers and pickup by local delivery Agent.
  • Updated the operating system for status after orders have been pulled and picked up by Agents.
  • Managed the return of product.
  • Performed periodic inventory counts and reconciled to the operating system inventory quantities.
  • Provided ongoing supervision of DC Associates.
  • Performed other dynamic duties as required.

These are the tools you would have brought with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years supervisory/management role in transportation, distribution and/or freight management
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment
  • Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships (vendors, warehousing, sales and upper-management)
  • Strong analytical skills, especially as it pertains to proactively managing and coordinating with others in order to meet our customer's needs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and high integrity
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as routing and operating software
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
