Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing one or more of the deliverables required for project execution for mid-sized projects which include; data validation use cases, requirements system diagrams and coordination and accountability for business and technical reviews. During the requirements phase of the project, the Analyst will coordinate and meet with IT and the business owners to ensure that business requirements are clearly linked with a data validation and profiling plan.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Works with business users to define data quality problems, redundancies, and inconsistencies and to document and help resolve data quality problems.
  • Coordinates with the business and data warehouse team in matters regarding modifications and enhancements.
  • Establishes data profiling and preventative procedures to improve data quality.
  • Develops operational controls for the monitoring and detection of data quality issues and develops continuous data quality improvement processes.
  • Works with Database Administrator and developers to correct data violations.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for data quality.

Nature and Scope

  • Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data.
  • Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details


  • Advanced Excel Skills (advanced formulas, macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics.
  • Experience analyzing data to recognize trends, grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems.
  • Experience creating and conducting presentations at the leadership level.
  • Communicates in an effective manner; Enables cooperative and productive group interactions; Gets along and interacts positively with co-workers and others.


  • Experience working in SAP
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or other related industry
