As the Federal Tax Analyst, you will support the company's income tax return compliance functions. You'll work on M-1 and deferred tax calculations, as well as tax estimates, provision and planning. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Assist with the preparation of federal tax returns, estimates, provision and planning
  • Develop workpapers, processes and procedures required for tax returns
  • Maintain and monitor tax books for fixed assets, including M-1 and deferred tax calculations and analysis
  • Assist in the determination of the tax treatment of leases, including M-1 and deferred tax calculations and analysis
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness for all tax general ledger accounts
  • Collaborate with the tax team to create reports and work on special projects for upper management in areas such as effective tax rate, cash taxes, etc.
  • Assist with the tax team's contribution to merger and acquisition initiatives, including due diligence and integration matters
  • Research various domestic tax issues as needed

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2 or more years of related federal tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of CorpTax software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA
  • Experience with LeaseAccelerator
  • Experience with Oracle and HFM
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
